More Pictures

We took Ella to the zoo last night and saw some their lights display. We meet up with some friends and it was a good time. We got to see some animals out and they had people in costume walking around, like Mrs. Claus and Jack Frost and someone other kind of fairy. We had a good time and I can't wait till next year when Ella will be a little older to enjoy it even more. So here are some photo's of our zoo trip and some photos from my mom's camera from Christmas.

Ella's Birthday Video

I finally figured out how to upload video to blogger. Here is a video from Ella's birthday. They are too long to be uploaded to facebook, one great thing about blogger that I really like so far.

Merry Christmas

Santa came and left many presents for Ella, I guess you can't be put on the naughty list when you are 13 months and super cute! Ella had a great Christmas with Grandma and Papa, they came Christmas Eve and stayed for most of Christmas day. Chris sang at church on Christmas Eve too. Here are some pictures of Ella's Christmas. We video taped her morning too and I will try to get that on here as soon as I figure that out.

Drinking from a Cup

Ella is a big girl now. She is drinking from a sippy cup only, no more bottles! As exciting as this is, mommy isn't. Ella is doing very well with her cup and it's nice not having any more spills all over the floor from the bottle. She is getting better with a spoon and fork too. She is even trying to change her own diaper and wipe up her own bottom (too cute) during diaper changes. The potty will be next before we know it! Someone seriously invent a baby pause button!!

We deleted Ella's old web page, so this is the only place to get up dates and pics.

Easy as 1...2...3

Ella is now counting. She can count up to 5. She started counting with her Tad (he is a frog made by leapfrog). He plays a counting game and Ella was repeating what he says. Well, we turned Tad off to see if she would count on her own. She can count up to 3 just fine, she has a hard time saying 1 but she knows what it means. She is working on 4 and 5, and has saying 4 down. She hasn't quite recognized 4 and 5 on our fingers, but is really close.

Tooth and Fork

Ella has her first tooth! It came in last week. She got her front right bottom tooth in before her molar. She has 6 more in the front that are ready to pop in any second. They are all right there ready to come out at once! She has been in a lot of pain, but is handling it well. I don't know how much longer she can stand it, I hope for her sake they all come in soon and than maybe her body will give her a break. It is sad that is will no longer have a toothless grin, I love that toothless grin.

Other news, Ella has been eating with a fork. She wanted to play with the fork we were using to feed her, so we let her just to see what she would do. She tried stabbing her food, she has some trouble so I gave her a hand, than she went straight for her mouth. I guess she is ready. So now we have been doing almost everyone other meal with a fork. She isn't very good at it, but she keeps trying and that is what is important. She is also learning how to wash herself. She rubs her hands together when we wash hands, but now she is trying to wash her body (mostly her chest) and her hair. Of course she can't do it all by herself, but she likes to help.

My baby isn't a baby anymore.

1 year appointment

Ella had a great 1 year appointment. She did alright with her shots and mommy even forgot the Tylenol. We decided to skip her Hep A shot since the doctor and I both agreed that it isn't needed and it would help her stay on schedule if we dropped it. He didn't have any H1N1 shots so we will go to the clinic at New Life on Friday. She did get a preservative free flu shot though. He spotted a tooth popping through on the back right side of Ella's mouth. I guess we are starting with the molars first.

Ella now weights 16 lbs 10 oz and is 30 inches long. Her weight is fine, but he did say that if she stays this way or doesn't gain a few more lbs that he wants to run some tests at her 15 month appointment. He also said that since so many women on my side of the family have gluten issues that might be something we will face down the road. Over all a good visit.

I am very glad that I have a doctor who I can trust and lets me do things that I see that are right for Ella.

Happy Birthday Ella!!!

We had a lot of fun and too much cake celebrating Ella's 1st Birthday! On Friday we went to the park and played. It was such a beautiful day. Than than night we had a small celebration and Ella opened her presents from mommy and daddy. She got a chair and Tad, who is a singing frog.  On Saturday we had all of Ella's friends over for cake and presents. She got a lot of toys and cloths from all of her friends. We are so set on toys for the next year at least, lol. One funny thing to mention; Ella didn't like the cake. She ate a cracker and one of my gluten free cupcakes instead. I guess mommy knows for next year, lol.  Than on Sunday family came down and we went to Fargo's Pizza. Ella got more toys and some more cloths. She had a very fruitful birthday.

Halloween

Trick or Treat!

Ella had a great first Halloween. She dressed up at Tigger and she went to trick or treating with her cousins who went as Peter Pan Ninja and Superman. We went to only a few houses before it got dark. She loved going door to door and getting stuff. She didn't learn "trick or treat" in time to say it but she did learn "thank you" and she did say it after getting her treats.

The following day was cousin Jeanette's wedding. Ella was silent during the whole ceremony and she boogied the night away (at least till 8pm). She did a great job of dancing with her cousins and stealing the show from the bride ;P

It was a great weekend.

Sick

Ella is sick this week. She has been coughing at night and it wouldn't go away. I finally called the doctor and they said bring her in because it didn't sound good at all. She was making this chocking and gasping cough. Some thoughts were that she had developed asthma or that she has croup. Turns out that she has a sinus/ear infection. Poor little girl. Her first sinus and ear infection. At least she got it when she was almost 1 that really does help her out in the long run, but this is her 3rd illness this fall. It's going to be a long winter.  Good news is she likes the flavor of her medicine, so that will make it easier to give her her antibiotics. Chris made Walgreens change her medicine so it would taste better, good thing too. They had it in berry flavor and Ella hates berry flavor so we got it made in apples. She has to be on antibiotics for 10 days. I hope she feels better soon.

Pumpkin Patch

Ella and Mommy went to the pumpkin patch today. We wanted to go on Saturday but with the ice storm we had to wait till today. Ella had a blast. It was windy, but she enjoyed every minute. She loved the sheep and goats, corn box, slide and best of all the bunnies.

Ella's first sandwich

How Ella likes her PBJ sandwich:  - PB and double the J, with a tall bottle of formula.

11 Months Old

Ella is 11 months old! How did we get here...?!?

So what is in the life of a 11 month old? She is walking all over the place and mostly by herself. She is eating table foods and loves it. She is starting to hold the bottle all by herself if it is lite enough. She is starting to take a sippy cup, we are on cup type #4.... She is gesturing more and is useing more social works like "Hewhoa" (hello). She loves to talk on the phone and play with Baby. She likes to watch PBS Kids while sitting in her basket. She likes to play peek a boo with anyone who will play. She likes to help out where ever doing what ever, and she thinks she is the greatest help. Still no teeth....

One month to her 1st birthday!!! Hard to believe it, but it's just around the corner.
