Meet the newest member to the Campbell family, Baby. Baby is a doll that on of my friends gave Ella while she was watching her one afternoon. My friend and her family are in the middle of packing to move and Ella found Baby amoung the toys that were going to make the trip to Good Will. My friend tried to take Baby away from Ella but she would just scream. Ella loves her Baby, Baby joins us for dinner, for rides in the car and some times nap time. She gives Baby hugs and even pats him on his back. It is so sweet. She is going to be a girly girl. I better start putting money away for all of those Barbie Dolls.
Welcome to Ella's World, an online record of her life. We are a gluten free, cloth diaperin' family. We enjoy going to the zoo and being with good friends. This blog is for friends and family to stay in touch with our lives.

10 Months old
Ella is 10 months old! Only 2 more months before her 1st birthday! WOW!!
So what is in the life of a 10 month old? She can now say over 20 words and make small phrases like "Hi Daddy." She loves to feed her self with her hands, she is getting closer to walking, but still doesn't have any teeth. She is learning more how to get into trouble and pretend that she isn't doing anything wrong. She knows how to turn pages of a book and is learning "open" and "close". She is so gifted.

Camping Trip
Ella went camping for the first time this weekend. We went to Lake Pueblo and stayed one night. We had lots of fun. It was a little too hot for Ella so we had to put her in the car and run the A/C so she could take naps. She did ok at night though. Ella loved playing with the rocks and crawling around in the tent. She loved looking at the lizard that we found near our site too. I think we will go camping again soon, but maybe when it isn't so hot.

9 Months old!
lla is 9 months old! Ok she turned 9 months a week ago but I wanted to wait till after her doctors appointment before I wrote an update. See our growth chart for updates on her growth.
So what is in the life of a 9 month old? Everything. She says up to 10 words: hi, hey, cat, kitty, doggie, okay, up, yes, daddy, tree, and we might have learned fish while at the doctors today (they have a fish tank). She will put two words together and make a sentence like hi daddy or hi kitty. She is walking with her walker. She is so independent that she won't hold our hands to walk. She can almost stand by herself with out holding on to anyone or thing. She eats almost everything. She loves savory foods and likes to try new things all the time. She is starting to learn to hold her own bottle, but she still has no interest in the sippy cup. She is keeping up with the big kids at church (most of her friends are 2-5 years old). She knows how to wave hello and we are getting bye bye down. She can clap, when appropriate, to "If you are happy and you know it" and she is very good at knowing when to applaud. We will be in big trouble once she takes off and is walking on her own, which won't be long! We are still waiting for her first tooth which I hope will be soon.
She loves to watch Spanish PBS preschool shows. She also loves going to the zoo. Some of her other favorite things are animals and the color orange. She loves making new friends and playing. She is very good at independent play. That's all for now.

Walking
All the crazy stuff is happening this week. First talking and now walking. Ok, she isn't walking on her own, but with help. She went around the whole living room twice with her walker piano. I can't believe it, just a few days a go she was trying to figure out why her piano has wheels and now she is using them. At first she needs my help, but once she got going she didn't need me any more. See our pictures for all the fun.

Talking!!!
Ella is talking now. She says "hi", "hey", "daddy", "cat", "kitty", "doggy," and she will combined kitty cat.
Her official first word is "hi". She crawled up to me and tugged on my pant leg and said "hi." It was very clear and deliberate. She didn't say anything else. She doesn't say much still, but she says "daddy" the most or "kitty". We were at the park and we say some dogs and Ella was given permission to pet them and she said "doggy!" So she is picking up words left and right. She almost has her first sentence too. She said "hi...kitty" yesterday.
They do grow up too fast!
