Happy Half Birthday to Ella

Today is Ella's half birthday! Only 6 more months before she is 1 year old!

Today she went to her 6 month check up. She is doing well and the doctor says I'm a good mom and to keep doing what I'm doing. She is the happiest baby in the office. I asked the doctor to put her on an alternate vaccination schedule, because she is always really sick and doesn't eat much for a whole week after she gets her shots. The doctor agreed that we need to do things differently for Ella. She only got two vaccines today and she seems to be doing much better. If she has a reaction at 9 months to her shots than we will have a clue that she might be allergic to the some of the vaccines.

So now that Ella is 6 months she can sit up and roll all over the place. She can scoot and she tries to crawl. She loves to eat and she has eaten fruits and veggies. She is learning what a sippy cup is and what it is for, she isn't sure how to hold it yet. She can give you high 5 when you ask and she recognized her favorite songs. She is very smart and very active. She knows her name and if you tell her to do something, like smash, she will smash. I wish I had more time to go on about how smart she is, but it is really something you gotta witness for your self.

5 Months Old

Ella is 5 months old today! It is so hard to believe how much time has just flown by, she is getting to be such a big girl.

So what is in the life of a 5 month old?  Well, she can roll over completely, she is eating veggies, she is working on sitting by herself, she knows her name, and she is sleeping 10-11 hours at night. We dropped her night feeding and she is doing great adjusting to her new schedule, and we are finally starting to feel rested. Her new thing is trying to stand. She is also noticing the cat more. She will reach out and try to touch Sophia. So far the cat is taking it well, which is good because Ella has pulled her fur a few times. I can't believe in one more month she will be half a year old!

Dedications

Ella's dedication was this past Sunday. We had a great time with family. Thank you all who came down. It was a very special time. Ella fell asleep right before we had to go on stage, but it was still a tender moment. We got a CD and a certificate from the church.

After church we went to lunch and has a great time catching up with family and taking pictures. It was a long day for us so we couldn't visit as long as we wanted, but we still enjoyed every one's company.

Mom and Dad stayed for dinner and we has a good time watching video's of Ella. They stayed in town over night and we went to the air base to get some food the next day.

On Saturday Aunt Deborah finally met Ella and we went to the St. Patties Day parade. Ella watch the whole thing and had a good time.

4 Months Old

Ella is now 4 months old. She is 11 lbs. 14 oz and 25 1/4 inches.

So what is in the life of a 4 month old? Well she can roll on to her side, so she will be able to roll onto her tummy (she can already roll onto her back). She loves to sing with her daddy and she loves music. She eats with a spoon pretty well and she knows where her mouth is too. She can put her pasci into her mouth when you ask her where her mouth is, she is so smart. She is starting to teeth and she is letting us know how much she doesn't like it. She is so curious and wants to learn. She is sleeping almost 8 -8.5 hours at night now. She is making friends at church and is always smiling. She is such a sweet sweet little girl.

3 Months Old

Ella is 3 months today! I know everyone says babies grow up fast, and they are right! It is hard to believe that my little girl is 3 months old.

So what is in the life of a 3 month old baby? Well, she can roll over from her tummy to her back going left and right. She is almost perfectly steady with her head. She can sit in your lap with no problems and can even pull herself to a sitting position when you have your thumbs in her hands. She is now singing, yes singing. Chris is in the choir at church and he practices with Ella and she mimics him and tries to sing. She now sings every day on her own and to almost everyone. She is trying really hard to understand her hands and get them to go where she wants them too, which is usually her mouth. She might be teething (oh joy). She is finally big enough for her cloth diapers! She is sleeping through the night almost 8 hours in her own room. She does great during church and has lots of fun in the nursery and she is making some baby friends. I am so excited to be apart of her life right now, but I'm excited to see what the next month will bring.

2 Months Old

She had her well-check visit at the doctors today. She is now 9 lbs. 15 oz and 22 3/4 inchs long.  Doctor says she is right on track and that we are doing everything right in takeing care of her. She got her shots today, poor thing. I've never seen her so red before and she hasn't cried like that since birth. She is sleeping and doing ok now.

So what is new in the life of a 2 month old? Well, she coos a lot, she is very very talkative. When she becomes a pre teen I won't be able to shut her up! She loves to talk and tell stories. She plays alot too, she get in about 3-4 hours of play a day. She is holding up her head so well too. She is starting to be able to move her toys around and understand that she is the one moving them and making them make sound. She loves music. She loves hearing Chris sing or music on the radio or coming from her toys. She is a supper smiley baby and likes to be silly when I try to feed her and she knows it! She is starting to sleep though the night, whoo hooo! She can see several feet away now too. So much is going on in her little world I'm sure I've forgot something to add, their is just so much she can do now! Life with baby sure isn't dull, it is very amazing!
